  • ​A shopper who scrolls through our Clips section, sees one of your videos, gives your an upvote and buys your product

What's the deal, I thought Grommet was free for brands?
When the new Grommet platform was launched back on August 31st, we wanted to do something special to reward brands for launching their products on Grommet and help us understand how shoppers would use the product. For the first 6+ months, Grommet has not charged brands any fees or commissions for sales generated. 

This is something that we were extremely proud of. However, from a business standpoint is unsustainable. Building a platform, marketing to brands and shoppers and ensuring we have a thriving platform for everyone has costs and expenses. We decided to create a revenue model that was a win-win-win for everyone. 

Shoppers will be able to discover the best, newest and most helpful products on the Internet.

Makers and brands will be able to profitably acquire customers without risking anything upfront.

And Grommet will be able to improve the platform, invest in more education and resources for you and continue to build our world class team to help you become unstoppable. 

No where else can you generate FREE sales on any platform or marketplace today, and only pay when you generate sales from extra exposure in front of shoppers who want to buy your products. 
How will I know whether a sale was Organic or Promoted?
One of the biggest things we want to do during this transition is to help brands understand what sales are free and which sales are promoted and will have a revenue sharing component to them. We have built out our dashboard from the ground up to help you better see all of your stats, from how many page views your product is receiving on Grommet to how many orders and how much revenue you are making from Organic and Promoted sales.

How many promoted sales should I expect to see?
Our goal with opening up this new model was to reward the brands that are seeing great performance on Grommet. Everyone starts on a level playing field during launch week, with 0 upvotes and 0 sales. 

During those first 7 days, every product has an opportunity to shine, to rise the charts and be discovered by millions of shoppers in Grommet's community. The better your product performs, the more Grommet, and Grommet’s partners, will promote your product to continue to send you consistent and long-term sales.

Over the course of the month you will see a blend of Organic (free) and Promoted (Rev Share) orders. 

Our belief is that you want to pay Grommet our 30% rev share. Why?

If you are paying us 30% for sales, it means your product is climbing the ranks and we want to find more and more ways to put it in front of as many shoppers as we possibly can. 

It means that you are acquiring customers without risking anything upfront and still being profitable on every order. 

It means you now have a direct relationship with these shoppers to get them to buy from you over and over again (with no rev share on those incredibly profitable backend sales). 

And every time you are featured in a promotion, you are likely receiving more upvotes and sales, pushing you back up higher and higher on the trending feed - which will result in more organic sales, which are those free sales we all want!
Can we opt out of promoted discovery and opportunities?
No. At this time, all brands that are active on Grommet must optin to the complete Grommet program which includes both Organic and Promoted sales.

We do not want our partners or our internal teams seeing products that are thriving on Grommet to not have the opportunity to grow and generate even more sales because they have opted out. 
Can you share an example of how this might work?
Sure! Let’s say that in the past 30 days, Grommet sent 100 new orders to your store. 

Of those 100 orders, 50 came via Organic Discovery, through search, categories, videos and the hundreds of thousands of shoppers just browsing Grommet.

The other 50 came from a special Mother’s Day email we sent to Grommet shoppers where we promoted your product. 

This would mean that the first 50 sales would have no revenue share and you would keep 100% of the revenue. 

On the 50 that came from the Mother’s Day email, you would pay a 30% revenue share. 

This gives you a blended revenue share of only 15% on all 100 sales Grommet sent to you during the past 30 days. 
When will this new program begin?
We are actively rolling this out to all active Grommet brand partners right now and anticipate going live sometime at the beginning of April. You will receive plenty of email notifications prior to going live. And of course, you can always reach out to Greg from Grommet with your questions by sending an email to greg@thegrommet.com.
Is there anything I need to do right now?
Yes! We will be sending out more detailed instructions over the coming days, but in order to remain an active brand on Grommet, you will need to ensure that you agree and accept Grommet's billing within your Shopify Dashboard. 

To do so, navigate to your apps, search for Grommet and then look for the section titled: Grommet Sales Commission. 

Once there, click on the Green Acceptance Box that states "Agree and accept billing."

That's it! You're in and ready to go.

  • ​Or, when your product is included in one of our influencer promotions like Mark Cuban’s Top Gift Picks.
These are all opportunities where your product is selected to be actively promoted by Grommet, or one of Grommet’s partners, or when Grommet sends a promotion to our website and your product is discovered. 

And remember, you will never pay anything upfront. 

You will only pay a small, 30% revenue share when Grommet drives a sale directly to you via one of our promotions after Launch Week.

What's the deal, I thought Grommet was free for brands?
When the new Grommet platform was launched back on August 31st, we wanted to do something special to reward brands for launching their products on Grommet and help us understand how shoppers would use the product. For the first 6+ months, Grommet has not charged brands any fees or commissions for sales generated. 

This is something that we were extremely proud of. However, from a business standpoint is unsustainable. Building a platform, marketing to brands and shoppers and ensuring we have a thriving platform for everyone has costs and expenses. We decided to create a revenue model that was a win-win-win for everyone. 

Shoppers will be able to discover the best, newest and most helpful products on the Internet.

Makers and brands will be able to profitably acquire customers without risking anything upfront.

And Grommet will be able to improve the platform, invest in more education and resources for you and continue to build our world class team to help you become unstoppable. 

No where else can you generate FREE sales on any platform or marketplace today, and only pay when you generate sales from extra exposure in front of shoppers who want to buy your products. 
How will I know whether a sale was Organic or Promoted?
One of the biggest things we want to do during this transition is to help brands understand what sales are free and which sales are promoted and will have a revenue sharing component to them. We have built out our dashboard from the ground up to help you better see all of your stats, from how many page views your product is receiving on Grommet to how many orders and how much revenue you are making from Organic and Promoted sales.

How many promoted sales should I expect to see?
Our goal with opening up this new model was to reward the brands that are seeing great performance on Grommet. Everyone starts on a level playing field during launch week, with 0 upvotes and 0 sales. 

During those first 7 days, every product has an opportunity to shine, to rise the charts and be discovered by millions of shoppers in Grommet's community. The better your product performs, the more Grommet, and Grommet’s partners, will promote your product to continue to send you consistent and long-term sales.

Over the course of the month you will see a blend of Organic (free) and Promoted (Rev Share) orders. 

Our belief is that you want to pay Grommet our 30% rev share. Why?

If you are paying us 30% for sales, it means your product is climbing the ranks and we want to find more and more ways to put it in front of as many shoppers as we possibly can. 

It means that you are acquiring customers without risking anything upfront and still being profitable on every order. 

It means you now have a direct relationship with these shoppers to get them to buy from you over and over again (with no rev share on those incredibly profitable backend sales). 

And every time you are featured in a promotion, you are likely receiving more upvotes and sales, pushing you back up higher and higher on the trending feed - which will result in more organic sales, which are those free sales we all want!
Can we opt out of promoted discovery and opportunities?
No. At this time, all brands that are active on Grommet must optin to the complete Grommet program which includes both Organic and Promoted sales.

We do not want our partners or our internal teams seeing products that are thriving on Grommet to not have the opportunity to grow and generate even more sales because they have opted out. 
Can you share an example of how this might work?
Sure! Let’s say that in the past 30 days, Grommet sent 100 new orders to your store. 

Of those 100 orders, 50 came via Organic Discovery, through search, categories, videos and the hundreds of thousands of shoppers just browsing Grommet.

The other 50 came from a special Mother’s Day email we sent to Grommet shoppers where we promoted your product. 

This would mean that the first 50 sales would have no revenue share and you would keep 100% of the revenue. 

On the 50 that came from the Mother’s Day email, you would pay a 30% revenue share. 

This gives you a blended revenue share of only 15% on all 100 sales Grommet sent to you during the past 30 days. 
When will this new program begin?
We are actively rolling this out to all active Grommet brand partners right now and anticipate going live sometime at the beginning of April. You will receive plenty of email notifications prior to going live. And of course, you can always reach out to Greg from Grommet with your questions by sending an email to greg@thegrommet.com.
Is there anything I need to do right now?
Yes! We will be sending out more detailed instructions over the coming days, but in order to remain an active brand on Grommet, you will need to ensure that you agree and accept Grommet's billing within your Shopify Dashboard. 

To do so, navigate to your apps, search for Grommet and then look for the section titled: Grommet Sales Commission. 

Once there, click on the Green Acceptance Box that states "Agree and accept billing."

That's it! You're in and ready to go.

How much does it cost to launch on Grommet?
Grommet has created a unique model to help new and emerging brands to showcase their product in front of millions of shoppers. This model includes both free, and commission based sales that are sent directly to your Shopify checkout from Grommet’s platform.

Organic Discovery: 0% Rev Share
Sales made through Organic Discovery are defined as any users who come to TheGrommet.com and purchase a product without clicking a promotion link. More information on Organic Sales can be found below in our FAQ’s.

Promoted Discovery: 30% Rev Share
Sales made via Promoted Discovery are defined as users who come to TheGrommet.com from a promotional link in an email, paid social media advertisements, or from promotional partners or publishers. More information on Promoted Sales can be found below in our FAQ’s.
Why do we have to offer a 20% discount?
On Grommet, Upvotes are the fastest way to get discovered, move up the Trending feed and get even more exposure by Grommet Shoppers and our Promotional Partners. The more Upvotes your product receives, the more our algorithm pushes your product to shoppers. The higher you are on the feed, the more the Grommet team is likely to promote you in one of our newsletters or other special promotions. And our promotional partners (like BuzzFeed, The Chive, The NY Post and dozens more) are always looking at Grommet's feed to find products to put into their articles, run product reviews or add into a holiday listicle. 

That is why we want to thank Shoppers for their Upvotes and give them a BIG incentive to buy your product. We found that 20% was the number that pushed Shoppers over the edge and gave them a big enough incentive to both Upvote and to buy your products, without pushing too much into your margins. 
What if I am not on Shopify?
Right now, Grommet connects to brands through our Shopify app. If your store is not currently on Shopify, there are a few things you can do to work with Grommet. 

1. You can setup a Shopify store, specifically for the SKU you wish to create on Grommet. You can get Shopify for just $1/mo for 3 months here. We also have a partnership with Store Tasker who can help you build the page and shopping cart needed to launch on Grommet. Just message us at brands@thegrommet.com to be connected to their team. 

2. You can advertise on Grommet's newsletter and have us share your product with millions of newsletter subscribers and Shoppers. Send an email to brands@thegrommet.com for more information on the latest programs currently available. 
Can I launch more than 1 product?
To get started, submit your Best-Selling or top performing product. If your first product performs well on Grommet, there will be additional opportunities for you to launch a 2nd product on our platform.
How do I fulfill my orders?
All orders are placed directly through your Shopify checkout page. You fulfill orders the same way you would any other order that comes into your Shopify store. By doing this, it ensures you have a direct relationship with your customers.

Here Are The 3 Things You Need To Know About The Updates Coming To Your Brands Account

1. You will continue to get Free Sales from Grommet on all Organic Sales. 
This includes:
  •  A shopper who discovers your product on the New or Trending Feed
  • ​A shopper who clicks through to categories and stumbles upon your product
  • ​A shopper who scrolls through our Clips section, sees one of your videos, gives your an upvote and buys your product
  • ​A shopper who Googles something like “best gifts for moms” and comes across a Guide, a blog post or a product listing. 
  • ​A shopper who sees you posting a link on social media or in an email that sends them over to Grommet to give you an upvote.
  • ​And a shopper discovering your product during Launch Week (yes, all Launch Week sales are free!)
2. After Launch Week you become eligible for Promoted Discovery, our new Pay For Performance Opportunity for new and emerging brands. 
Promoted Discovery is how you will continue to get your product featured to the Grommet Shopper Community and Grommet’s Partners to bring you sales over and over again. 

The better your product performs, the more Grommet, and Grommet’s partners, will promote your product to give you consistent and long-term sales on Grommet.

And the only time you will ever pay Grommet is when you make a sale via one of our promotions.

This could happen…
  •  When we select you to be a part of one of our newsletters that is sent to millions of shoppers.
  • ​When you are selected by one of Grommet’s publishing partners to be part of an article, listicle or email that is sent to their audience, promoting your product on Grommet.
  • ​Or, when your product is included in one of our influencer promotions like Mark Cuban’s Top Gift Picks.
These are all opportunities where your product is selected to be actively promoted by Grommet, or one of Grommet’s partners, or when Grommet sends a promotion to our website and your product is discovered. 

And remember, you will never pay anything upfront. 

You will only pay a small, 30% revenue share when Grommet drives a sale directly to you via one of our promotions after Launch Week.
3. This New Blended Revenue Sharing Model Will Be Going Live At The Beginning Of April
In the following days we will be sharing how to accept the new terms within Shopify, as well as in-depth videos, training and Q&A sessions on how these promotional opportunities will help you generate even more sales through Grommet and our promotional partners.

What's the deal, I thought Grommet was free for brands?
When the new Grommet platform was launched back on August 31st, we wanted to do something special to reward brands for launching their products on Grommet and help us understand how shoppers would use the product. For the first 6+ months, Grommet has not charged brands any fees or commissions for sales generated. 

This is something that we were extremely proud of. However, from a business standpoint is unsustainable. Building a platform, marketing to brands and shoppers and ensuring we have a thriving platform for everyone has costs and expenses. We decided to create a revenue model that was a win-win-win for everyone. 

Shoppers will be able to discover the best, newest and most helpful products on the Internet.

Makers and brands will be able to profitably acquire customers without risking anything upfront.

And Grommet will be able to improve the platform, invest in more education and resources for you and continue to build our world class team to help you become unstoppable. 

No where else can you generate FREE sales on any platform or marketplace today, and only pay when you generate sales from extra exposure in front of shoppers who want to buy your products. 
How will I know whether a sale was Organic or Promoted?
One of the biggest things we want to do during this transition is to help brands understand what sales are free and which sales are promoted and will have a revenue sharing component to them. We have built out our dashboard from the ground up to help you better see all of your stats, from how many page views your product is receiving on Grommet to how many orders and how much revenue you are making from Organic and Promoted sales.

How many promoted sales should I expect to see?
Our goal with opening up this new model was to reward the brands that are seeing great performance on Grommet. Everyone starts on a level playing field during launch week, with 0 upvotes and 0 sales. 

During those first 7 days, every product has an opportunity to shine, to rise the charts and be discovered by millions of shoppers in Grommet's community. The better your product performs, the more Grommet, and Grommet’s partners, will promote your product to continue to send you consistent and long-term sales.

Over the course of the month you will see a blend of Organic (free) and Promoted (Rev Share) orders. 

Our belief is that you want to pay Grommet our 30% rev share. Why?

If you are paying us 30% for sales, it means your product is climbing the ranks and we want to find more and more ways to put it in front of as many shoppers as we possibly can. 

It means that you are acquiring customers without risking anything upfront and still being profitable on every order. 

It means you now have a direct relationship with these shoppers to get them to buy from you over and over again (with no rev share on those incredibly profitable backend sales). 

And every time you are featured in a promotion, you are likely receiving more upvotes and sales, pushing you back up higher and higher on the trending feed - which will result in more organic sales, which are those free sales we all want!
Can we opt out of promoted discovery and opportunities?
No. At this time, all brands that are active on Grommet must optin to the complete Grommet program which includes both Organic and Promoted sales.

We do not want our partners or our internal teams seeing products that are thriving on Grommet to not have the opportunity to grow and generate even more sales because they have opted out. 
Can you share an example of how this might work?
Sure! Let’s say that in the past 30 days, Grommet sent 100 new orders to your store. 

Of those 100 orders, 50 came via Organic Discovery, through search, categories, videos and the hundreds of thousands of shoppers just browsing Grommet.

The other 50 came from a special Mother’s Day email we sent to Grommet shoppers where we promoted your product. 

This would mean that the first 50 sales would have no revenue share and you would keep 100% of the revenue. 

On the 50 that came from the Mother’s Day email, you would pay a 30% revenue share. 

This gives you a blended revenue share of only 15% on all 100 sales Grommet sent to you during the past 30 days. 
When will this new program begin?
We are actively rolling this out to all active Grommet brand partners right now and anticipate going live sometime at the beginning of April. You will receive plenty of email notifications prior to going live. And of course, you can always reach out to Greg from Grommet with your questions by sending an email to greg@thegrommet.com.
Is there anything I need to do right now?
Yes! We will be sending out more detailed instructions over the coming days, but in order to remain an active brand on Grommet, you will need to ensure that you agree and accept Grommet's billing within your Shopify Dashboard. 

To do so, navigate to your apps, search for Grommet and then look for the section titled: Grommet Sales Commission. 

Once there, click on the Green Acceptance Box that states "Agree and accept billing."

That's it! You're in and ready to go.
